Upgrading from R9 270x to GTX 1060

Running some final last gasp attempts to save my GFX card, but I think it's probably toast. Wanted to upgrade to a GTX 1060 6GB if that does turn out to be the case, but I'm worried if I'd be wasting money given my other specs.

AMD FX6300 (six core, 3.5Ghz)
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
1x8gb ram
Corsair 550W PSU

Your specs seems fine for current modern game. But if I were you I would definitely upgrade to a 1060 6gb version!

Yea I wouldn’t really go for that 1060 unless you had a bit more money to buy a new mobo and cpu, honestly your cpu is pretty outdated and it’s not really good to have a system like that

Yea I wouldn’t really go for that 1060 unless you had a bit more money to buy a new mobo and cpu, honestly your cpu is pretty outdated and it’s not really good to have a system like that, it can barely run new triple A titles on like medium/low settings. I would recommend selling your current mobo and cpu and building a kaby lake system as you can get a 6700k and mobo for around your budget once you sell your system and you can get a 1050 or any rx series card with 4gb or more of vram
