Thinking of upgrading from my asus z97 to the ASUS PRIME Z590-P
My current cpu is I5-4670k the new one I'm looking at is I5-10600k
Only reason for the upgrade is newer USB and internal storage and WIndows 11
Not sure on the ram..Not even sure if the costs are worth the upgrade just yet

Solution
Yes, DDR3. So New CPU, Motherboard, and RAM.

11600k is actually worth it over the 10600k.

12th gen will technically support DDR4 on some motherboards, but 14th and possibly 13th will be DDR5 only, so might as well buy the fastest possible if you intend to keep it as long as your last processor.

Solution
Do you need a Z590 based motherboard to get the features you want?
What is the internal storage feature you want?
Perhaps a less expensive B560 motherboard will do.
The main difference is no cpu overclocking.
Here is a chart on the differences:

The i5-10600K is a nice upgrade.
But, the i5-11400 is in the same price range and a bit stronger,

I would not wory about the vrm issue in a decent case.
Yes, the vrm's do get hot when using ai7/i9 or when overclocking.
