Hello!
I'm looking for some help in evaluating my best bang for my buck here by upgrading my GTX 970 GPU to either a 1070 or 1080.
I have a Dell GSYNC S2417DG monitor at 144hz refresh and would like to be able to play games a mid-high settings at 1440p with close to 60FPS. My current system is detailed below - I don't really want to build something new right now, but wondering if there will be much of a difference between a 1070 and 1080 due to the rest of the hardware likely bottlenecking the higher end cards.
Dell XPS 8500
Dell 24 Inch GSYNC 144hz Monitor (1440p native res)
Intel Core i7-3770
16GB DDR3-1600 UDIMM
1TB Samsung Evo SSD
Anyways, I can grab a GTX 1070 for $240 or a GTX 1080 for $350. Is it even worth considering the 1080 or will the 1070 max me out? Thanks!
