Upgrading Gpu: bottleneck

Hello everybody. I want to upgrade my video card. Now i have a GTX 650 and I'd like to buy a 1050ti. The cpu is Intel g2140 3.3 ghz-3m-lga 1155 box. Will the cpu bottleneck the gpu? If yes, also with a 980?

There might be some bottleneck in some games at some times with the G2140 and the GTX 1050 Ti, but that is the card I would use if I had your CPU.
The GTX 980? Seriously?

It will pair fairly well with a GTX 1050Ti. As Clutchc said there will be a bottleneck in some games.

The CPU unfortunately doesn't have the power to feed the GTX 980. The 980 will constantly be waiting on frames.

Manage your expectations. That's a weak 2 core & 2 thread cpu, there are a few games that won't even launch on CPU's with less than 4 threads. The cpu is also well below the minimum recommend for all modern AAA games so it will run them very badly regardless of which gpu you use.

Thank you very much for the answers. As you can see, I'm not very expert on hardware. I had the feeling the 980 wasn't plausible, but i had a friend selling it, so i tried xd. I think that ill stick with this pc a bit more and then buy directly a new one.
