upgrading gpu with a core 2 quad

Hello, with my curent rig I am unable to play dark souls 3 even with lowest settings so I was wondering about upgrading my gpu to a gtx 1050 with a core 2 quad q8300 I know it would bottleneck but as I am unable to work this summer I can't buy a new system so would it be worth to upgrade the gpu. I will build a new rig next summer so for a year would it work out with this cpu and a 1050?

If that looks playable to you then sure. The 1050 would do about the same because it would be limited by the CPU. Maybe a little better.

above 30 fps is fine for me untill I build a new rig next year. Tyvm for the answer
