Upgrading Graphics Card

I am thinking of upgrading my GPU from the MSI Geforce GTX 650 1GB to the EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2 GB. The question I have is is this a good choice? Also what is fill rates, vertex processing speed, and cude scores?

I'd say that is a good choice for an upgrade. What is your current Cpu though? I wouldn't get too caught up in the Fill Rates/Vertex Processing Speed mumbo jumbo. It's all pretty theoretical anyways, and real world performance via benchmarks is more important. Cuda Cores also mainly have to do with graphical rendering as well, so wouldn't worry about that too much.

It is very good performance jump. 960 is about as fast as 680 which is the fastest single card for 600 series.

My current Cpu is a i3-3220 at 3.30Ghz, but I can upgrade to either a 2nd gen i5 or 2nd gen i7 (depending on price)

Keep your current CPU, you might find yourself wanting to upgrade to Skylake at the end of the year! The i3 will be fine until then where you can make a choice

My MB uses a 1155 socket, will the skylake use the same one?

No, it uses LGA 1151. But by the time it comes out you could have enough money saved for the new motherboard

Nah, no reason to. You'd have to buy motherboard, ram, and Cpu. No reason to drop that much money if you can just pick up an Ivy Bridge Cpu to toss into your 1155 chipset motherboard.

thanks, I think I'll stick with either my i3 or maybe upgrade to an i5 plus pick up the 960.

I have a ASUS STRIX 960 and I love everything about it. It's a really good card, however I would honestly recommend a Gigabyte model over the EVGA model, just my opinion.
