Upgrading graphics card

Hello,
i have a studio dell xps right now an i wanted to upgrade the graphics card to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 , is that okay if i just also replaced the power supply to a 600w spare that i have laying around?

Depends on the "spare" PSU. What brand/model is it? What are the specs? The 460 is bit dated, unless you getting a killer deal you can get a newer, more powerful card for the money.

a power vista 600w sata atx power supply with pci express
peripheral connector, sata connector, floppy connector, complies with atx 12v 2version, and main power 20+4pin connector

well im looking at a gtx 460 se right now for bout 90, if theres something else that id be getting a better deal or my money worth that be better

you need a new power supply, that one is seriously no good. corsair, fsp, ocz/pc power & cooling, seasonic are good. then you'll be fine.

you might consider a 7750 in that price range. make sure any comparision is the SE version of the 460 and 12.11 drivers of the 7750.
