Dear PC experts,

Sorry i am a complete noob with understanding PC components and have recently built my very first PC;

I7 3770k
Asus p8z77-v pro
16 gb ram
1tb drive
s27a950d 27inch 120hz 3d led

I play BF2 project reality and Dota 2 which was sufficent for the GTX 280

I own the following games but have yet to play them until after i upgrade my videocard.

Crysis Trilogy
Hitman: Absolution
Arma 3 Alpha
Sleeping dogs
Ghost Recon Future Soldier

I will only be running one single display at 1080p at 120hz.

I currently have Tri Def 3D and know nvidia 3d vision is not supported for my led. I want to know if buying a new Nvidia Card is a worst choice than a AMD card instead as i have read that AMD cards work with my led in 3d with no problems.

However is 3D from AMD different than tridef?

And is Nivida 3D vision dramatically better than TriDef 3D.

However i perfer Nvidia as AMD does not have physX which will be in the new Arma 3.

So my dilemma is this. If 3d is dramtically better with a AMD card with my led. I will be buying a AMD 7970. I was planning to get the new HD 8000 Sea Islands card but they are not coming till 2014 and i do not have any more patient to wait.

However if the 3d is on par with TriDef. Or Nvidia 3d vision is better, i will buy a new Nvidia card. Probaly a GTX 680.

I also do think physx is a plus for Nvidia as Arma 3 has it.

However can my CPU handle running physX alone with a AMD card?

Also i am wondering if the 690 or Titan is worth the purchase right now.

I have never SLI'd two cards and am wondering if it is a good idea for future use.

I honestly do not want to overpay. I can afford to sli Nvidia titans but I am trying to get the most bang for buck. Besides I'm gonna get the new gpus next year anyways.

Thank you for your time.

If anyone can answer just some of these questions. It will be helpful!

Well if you truly do have unlimited funds and you don't care too much for 3D at the moment just buy a card like a GTX 670 for the mean while until you can get a better card for the 3D stuff you want to do. That card while be good enough to run all of those games at good fps. Or you can look up cards with all the specs you want on a site like newegg(dot)com. Make sure your power supply can handle the wattage though.

Well wayne I want to run all games on highest settings with 16x aa and 16x af on 1080p.

Can a GTX 680 do this? Or does that mean I should get a titan or 690?
I don't understand what I need to get the same results in 3d.

With unlimited funds, you can afford to fund research into holographic displays for true 3d gaming and commission new GPUs to be made for your purposes. Then you could also buy Valve and EA to make Dota 3 and Battlefield 5.

Well if you truly have "Unlimited funds" I demand you SLI two Titan GPUs. Just Kidding!

I think that you can survive on just the 690. If you use this for gaming that itself would be more than adequate for running all games at highest settings with 60+ FPS (On the Nvidia website they have tested it with Crysis 3, it works).
