Hi I just want to make sure, is it safe to upgrade from HDD to SSD? I want to replace my old hard drive into an SSD but I am worried about the BIOS update and driver update for my mother board ( I dont have the CD, but the updates are found and can be downloaded in the motherboard's website.) I am afraid that my system might short or something like that. Or is it just like this: remove old Hard drive then plug in SSD then install new OS then update drivers/BIOS? Also, I am only planning to use the SSD for games and will change the boot device into HDD if I am not playing. Thank you in advance!!

P.S. I built this computer last june so its still fairly new

SPECS are :

Mobo: BIOSTAR A55mD2
CPU: AMD a 10-6800k
RAM: 4GB 1600
PSU: 450W
Current HDD: 7200RPM 500GB

SSD that I bought and want to put in my system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820721107

Just download the drivers from the Website and connect your SSD and disconnect the HDD so you can smoothly install the OS. Make sure that AHCI is selected in BIOS.
After installing you can plug in the HDD again and use it for other data.

so basically,

Step1: download the BIOS/driver update and put it on thumb drive
Step2: disconnect HDD and connect SSD
Step3: boot computer and go in BIOS select AHCI
Step4: Install new OS on SSD
Step5: Plug in Thumb drive and install BIOS/Driver update

then after that I can connect the HDD again and can interchange freely between both?
