hi still kind of new to pcs I'm trying to upgrade an old pc the motherboard is a hp 80cb. when I searched the motherboard up there's only one site I could find but not sure if it is the right motherboard. I got the motherboard using speccy, its a friends laptop and they don't know the model of the laptop and I'm not sure how I could find it out.
When looking up the motherboard I saw it says it has two ram slots but is single channel. Does this mean that it is only single channel as there is only one ram stick in, or I can only use one slot at a time ?
Second question - - on the website it says " supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) "
What does unbuffered mean ?
And thirdly, on the web site it says it's dimm socket, not so-dimm.
Since this is a laptop I am upgrading does that mean it is using desktop ram ?
any help would be really appreciated.
