that motherboard has no I3-i5 capabilities
According to http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel/DQ35JO.html best CPU you can run on it is a Q9650 Quad Core.

you could look for a Used I5-4460, Z87 Motherboard, and 8GB of DDR3-1866/1600 Ram to go with it,. should run you about 250$

all depends on where you are, what you are performing with your system, a new I3/MB/Ram could be cheaper, even consider Ryzen series as upgrade path as well. what would be your budget ?

my budget is around 200/300 im going to be light gaming and browsing really thats it, dont need anything special. the games im running now do ok at medium settings and thats fine for me i just thought the cpu was holding me back with some games.

Your Q6600 was great in it's day(some 10 years ago), but not today.
ItQ6600 has a passmark rating of 2960 and a single thread rating of 924.
The single thread rating is what most games need.

By comparison, $250 buys you a G4600, a lga1151 motherboard and 8gb of ddr4 ram. Passmark 5218/2057.
You can go up from there.

Your GT-710 graphics card has a rating of 676.
The included integrated HD630 graphics has a rating of 1140.

Time to upgrade, whatever you are using the pc for.
