Second thread on this topic, I'd like to clarify so that I can get more solid answers.

Currently I have a 650watt PSU.
My motherboard is a MSI B75MA-P45.
I have an Intel i3 3220 and an EVGA GeForce GTX 650 TI Boost.

I'm looking for an upgrade, preferably around ~$300.

I am NOT looking to overclock, mainly due to my lack of experience and need.

Here's my current list of considered CPUs-
i5 3470
i7 2600k

Once again, not looking to overclock, I just want the best chip I can get with the money I have that would fit in the LGA 1155 slot and not bottleneck the hell out of my GPU (or fry my PSU).

Solution
I am in the same boat!

i have a b75 motheboard running a pentium g2120.

been searching all over ebay for a good deal, take a look there.

or, if you live near a microcenter, some still have 1155 Xeons left, i grabbed the last one at my local store for my brother. Xeon E3 1245v2 for $199. Thats about the best deal you are going to find, but you need a local store as its pickup only.
