First off sorry if this is the wrong place.

As stated I am looking to upgrade my CPU at the moment I only really have a budget of around £100 / £150 for it so can anyone offer suggestions as to what would be a good upgrade. Any recommendation on a fairly budget friendly upgrade for the GPU would be also welcome as that will be getting upgraded in the new year. Thanks in advance for any help

An FX8350 works in any AM3+ mobo.If you want to future-proof it a bit look for one of the boards they came out with just prior to Ryzen. They have up to USB 3.1 and an M2 slot.
If you are dead set on keeping your system you can find an FX8350 for about 100-120 if you look around. It is 2x the cores and 4.0ghz speed.I have an FX6350 I got for $80 right after Ryzen came out and it runs good on a 970 board.

Thanks for replying, I might wait until the new and just upgrade the whole lot being it works fine for the games I do play at the moment. Just as a follow-up question would the FX-8350 not work on my motherboard ?? it is only around £100 on Amazon
