I'm upgrading from a 7480D to a 7870 GHz edition, I was wondering how to go about this.. Do I have to uninstall the 7480D drivers to install the 7870 ones? And, if I do that and screw up, will the computer automatically reinstall the 7480D so that I have my computer to it's original state?

If anything fails, how will I see my screen to initiate the saved restore? Sorry for all the detail , I just don't want to fuck it up 😛

You don't need drivers to POST or to go into windows. Just do a clean uninstall for the drivers, shutdown your PC, plug the card in and connect the power connectors and your monitor to the card, power on, install the driver for your card and you should be fine.

Thank you. I'll make the restore now, then uninstall the drivers and update.
