Upgrading My Hard Drive from 1TB to 3TB HOW?

Hello I am trying to upgrade my 1 TB internal drive to a 3 TB internal.
What is the best way to do this?

Can I just clone my 1 TB drive using Macrium or Acronis and then just take out the old internal and
place the new cloned internal in the bay? Then boot right up?

Will the cloned larger drive work on Windows 7 just as the old drive did?

Its just like changing from a smaller size shoe to a bigger one right?

Cloning it might work, but you'll only get 2.2TB of space - Windows 7 is typically installed using an MBR partition table, which maxes out at this size.

If it's a desktop (which the 3TB implies), you may be able to add a second HDD. I'd suggest doing that.
