Upgrading my hardware

So I'm trying to stream/record video games and my computer is having trouble keeping up I run a game my recording software and twitch and I experience minor lag in game and even more lag on the stream just wondering if I should upgrade my hardware or my internet is the issue.

-ASUS GeForce GTX1080 8gb ROG STRIX graphics card
-ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
-Kingston HyperX Savage 32GB Kit (4x8GB) 1866MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM XMP
-AMD FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition Processor

Your hardware will be showing it's age and you'd almost certainly benefit from a CPU/MB/RAM upgrade, but the unknown quantity here is your internet.... What kind of upload speeds do you see?

The gtx 1080 is more than enough, but i agree the system is aging. If you have fast enough internet you may have to reduce stream quality or overclock your cpu for better performance.

Yeah, it could be both. An FX-8350 with a meh motherboard is a really poor match for a 1080. Your internet could be a problem, but your CPU hardware definitely is one if you're trying to get the most out of a 1080.
