Question Upgrading my Lenovo Legion 5

Hello! I have a Lenovo Legion 5-15ACH6H Model, with a 6GB RTX 3060 and 16GB of RAM, but only 14GB of RAM are usable, as the other 2GB are "given" to the GPU.

My question, is if I upgrade my RAM, to 32GB, does Windows automatically give 2GB of my RAM to the GPU or is there some configuration I'll have to do?

Hey there,

No, this is normal. The ram is hardware reserved. Same on every installation of Windows, anywhere. However, different hardware in other machines, may require slightly more or slightly less. It varies.

No configuration needed. Windows does it for you. The size may change after the RAM upgrade, but no biggie, at most by about gig.
