my rig which i am currently using and think to 2 upgrading it plz tel me is this a good build !!!!
PREVIOUS BUILD: core i5 3330,gtx 660 2gb,gigabyte z77 ds3,gx 750w,4 gb ram "which sucks"
NOW I AM THINKING TO UPGRADE THIS TO: CORE I7 4770K WITH GTX 770 4GB
WITH 8 GB RAM I AM STUCK IN MOTHERBOARD I WANT GIGABYTE MOBO IN FULL BLACK COLOR WHICH SHOULD BE UNDER 180$ OR 18000 PAK RUPESS PLZ TELL ME IS THIS A GOOD BUILD

there are as rock board much less costly than gigabyte and asus ....and they are reliable....

the question was not for me but still i am answering it.......NO you cant run 4th gen processor in your current z77 board....i have already said this before...... they have different sockets lga 1150 and z77 have lga 1155 socket.....

Yeah, they aren't compatible. The best you could get with a z77 board is the 3770k, which is still a very powerful cpu. If you already have the board, go with that one.

@prit87
The asrock board equivalent to mine is the extreme 4 with slightly worse rating. Yet it's 20€ more expensive. I do enough research to know what I'm buying.

You've described part of the build I put together about a year ago now, to go along with what you've said I also added a sabertooth motherboard (it does most things and has beautiful aesthetics, it's not gigabyte though) and the only other thing I will say is buy a good psu. There's lists you can Google to find ratings and reliability, though as a general any bronze will do.

Why don't you wait for DDR4 (8GB) RAM and the new intel CPU's to launch? Tom's hardware is expecting for it to launch the 29th August (this month) and they estimate that the cheapest model i7 CPU will be $400.

Which is not bad considering it is about $60 more then the i7 devil's canyon (used newegg to check the price - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=i7+devil%27s+canyon&N=-1&isNodeId=1)

Also it has 6 cores, 12 threads, clocks at 3.3GHZ 15MB L3 cache but you can read all this here
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=i7+devil%27s+canyon&N=-1&isNodeId=1

I would say that it will be worth the wait, even if it only launches September, at least you have more time to safe up and buy the next gen. of CPU and RAM.

As for the video card, I own a Asus GTX770 2GB and it is fantastic!! My display is a 1600 X 900 LG L.E.D display and I play BF4 on ultra, I get around 80 FPS, average, but go for the GTX770 4GB card, much better choice, especially if you want to play games in 1080p, you will have more then enough v-ram for games like Watchdogs that uses 3.1 GB of v-ram in 1080p, I think?

Hope this help

not a huge difference...
Single-threaded performance of the Intel i7-4770K is higher.
In multi-threaded applications, the Intel Core i7-4770K processor has 7% better performance.
The i7-4770K is 2% faster when running memory-intensive tasks.

The only aspect that can impact performance for gaming is the change in gpu, everything else is negligible.

Wait for the next set of die and redesign shrinks next year. Otherwise, you are spending money for no noticeable change.

This coming year is an irregular tick-tock cycle and will outpace others. It may be the last big shift.

@ rbarnhart - buddy can you me some link or more detailthat explains your above statment , thanks in advance !

Cheers !

Here are some links.

Skylake Processors: DDR4 Ram, more PCI-e capability, Sata Express, more reasons, just read.

4GB vs More Ram for Gaming: The effect is greatest on load times and not FPS, but if you wait the benefit will be greater with DDR4 ram.

Which Processor i5 vs i7: Games do not currently use 8 cores through hyperthreading. So i5 is effectively as good as i7 for gaming alone.

As for video card you want Sapphire R9 290 Vapor X OC: better bang for buck versus gtx 770 hands down.

Your GTX 660 is then the only component that is lagging currently in a way that directly effects FPS. The r9 290 card will radically alter this and let you save up for other more critical cutting edge upgrades that will appear over the next year.

Cheers,
Ryan

4 GB of RAM is great if you are working with word or Exel all day... Gaming, you need 8 GB of RAM, try playing BF4 with only 4 GB of RAM, the PC lag is terrible even if everything is set to low, 8 GB is the future and if you wait DDR4 8 GB is a good choice.

Radeon R9 290 is not performing better then the GTX 770, where did you read that? Also not better money for value, the GTX 770 would be a much better choice, here is a comparison between the 2 cards and price is also included.

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-290-vs-GeForce-GTX-770

Also here is a GTX 770 (remember this a 2 GB card) up against the R9 280X just mix it up a bit
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-280X-vs-GeForce-GTX-770

Don't underestimate the GTX 660, still a very good card, he can even consider SLI but will not help with V-RAM, so I would rather go for a 4 GB GTX 770, have a look here for for the GTX 660 going up against the Radeon R9 270X
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-270X-vs-GeForce-GTX-660

Yes, I use GPU-boss for comparisons, they are awesome to use especially if you are in the market for a new card. I like Radeon, not trying to bad mouth them, they have really good cards and a very nice price tag on their cards, but if I can afford a Nvidea card (which I can) then I would rather buy Nvidea card, there is a old afrikaans saying "goed koop is duur koop" which means buying cheap is buying expensive.

yes like legend said GPUboss is promoted by nvidia there is no way that the r9 290 is equal to the gtx 770. r9 280x is a bit faster than gtx 770 so r9 290 is much more faster than gtx 770 i personally own nvidia gtx 760 (not being biased here)but still i like amd because of there variety of cards they keep in mind for every consumer before developing their cards and fill the huge gap between gtx 750 ti and gtx 760 in price and performance left by nvidia .
For the ram 4 gb is minimum requirement for current games 6 gb is recommended yet only few games reach more than 4 gb people buy 8 gb to be future proof and create a balance between the cards.
