Hi, So I've had my PC for a while now and I'm looking to upgrade..
My current specs:
MSI 970 Gaming mobo
AMD FX-8350
8gb HyperX ram
Geforce GTX 970

I will be upgrading to:
Asus Z170-a mobo
Intel I7 6700k
Hyper 212 evo cooler
16gb HyperX DDR4 2133

So my question is do I need to reinstall windows and everything?
I have a boot ssd with few programs on it like chrome, steam and others + csgo
I also have a 2tb hdd that I use to store all my games and everything else.

Or can I just replace everything in my case and plug my storage drives in and will it work ?
Thanks for your answers!

Microsoft considers a new motherboard the same as getting a new computer, so legally speaking you'll need a new license. I doubt if the existing configuration would boot anyway because Windows customizes itself to your system when it's installed.

Good luck.
It depends, most of the time changing mobo just needs a driver update which windows do automatically, but some other times windows just cant boot.

Its better to take a backup and try with old windows installation,if it doesnt work then just reinstall windows.

I have an oem copy 🙁 So will I just try to use my old copy of windows or ?
