Upgrading my PC for better FPS in gaming and streaming

Motherboard: FM2A75 Pro4-M
SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB ATA Device
SSD 2: Fujitsu SSD 64GB ATA Device
RAM: 16.0 GB DDR3
Power Supply: Corsair 750w
Case: Cooler Master Elite

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, Mobo and RAM. I will eventually upgrade everything else. The PC is mainly used for gaming, streaming and light homework.

I'm wiling to spend between $400-$800 ish on upgrades

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($194.46 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI - B350M MORTAR Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($62.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($156.34 @ Newegg Marketplace)

But because I'm willing to spend more money what would you recommend or should I go with the build I was suggested?

I think what they suggested is a good balance for around that 400 dollar price point. You could look into the 8 core Ryzen 7 1700 if you do a lot of streaming, otherwise the 1600 is a great value if you overclock it.

You could look into the new i7 8700 it 8700k, but I think from what I've seen those may be hard to get hold of.

However, if you go ryzen, compared to the system you have now, it will be a nice upgrade.

If you wanted, you could go with the ryzen set up and get a GTX 1060 6gb or an RX 580 if you can find one for a good price. That should keep you in budget and improve gaming for sure, and you could probably sell your 380 for adding 100 dollars or so.

is the ryzen 7 1700 better than the 1600 in every way? I will probably end up going with that if that is the case.

I think that basically the 1600 has like 90% of the power of the 1700. I think for games etc you won't see much difference, but for streaming, you get 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads. That said though if you are gaming, you may appreciate the graphics card upgrade more. Up to you. I don't stream, but I've got the 1600 and mostly game from time to time and it's plenty for me.

No problem. When you get it running, you should be able to overclock the cpu on the stock cooler. I had mine overclocked to 3.7ghz on the stock cooler. Makes for a nice little bump in performance.
