Solution
I cant seem to find a motherboard that wont have trouble with the R5 5600x, they say Gigabyte B550 Aorous Elite or one of the X570 mobos. But they both run into conflicts with it on PC Part picker?

Totally normal. The Ryzen 5600X is a new CPU and no motherboard was supporting it out of the box. When you buy the motherboard make sure it's a board that has the BIOS update already on it to support the 5600X. Could have a sticker on the box "Ryzen 5000 ready" or something like that. Contact the seller. If it does not have that sticker and the board was manufactured before the Ryzen 5600 was released a BIOS update will be needed. Which mean you need a CPU supported by the B550 and do the BIOS update yourself before installing the...

I don't know if you would be doing any 3D modeling or video editing but I would user a little bit more of that budget on a better GPU and a more moderate CPU.
the Ryzen 5 3600x is still a very good CPU and you could probably upgrade to a 2070 or 2070 super which is noticeable better in games. What you need can also depend on what kind of Monitor you have too. I have a 1080ti with a 2700x (1080ti is comparable to a 2070 or 2070super) and I tend to hit GPU max more than CPU.
Alternatively, IF you can manage to get one of the new ryzen CPU 5600x you will be getting A LOT more performance for the same price.

I plan on using it primarily for gaming, but wouldnt the 8 cores be better than the 6?

it really would only be useful to have those extra cores for heavy multitasking like running a livestream and gaming at the same time with several other applications open. the difference between the two are hard to notice in gaming terms. if you look up benchmarks for both they are very very close.

A large majority of the time you will see more improvement from a graphics card upgrade than a CPU upgrade.

but the 8 cores is good for future proofing?

thanks will do, though I do wonder why it performs better

The single core performance is a lot better on Ryzen 5000 series and a few more improvements.

Just look at this video. The 5600X is now so close to the 10700K it's crazy. AMD Ryzen 5000 is incredible. The FPS will even be better with a AMD 6000 series GPU and AMD Ryzen 5000 CPU with that Smart Access Memory boost. Gives around 5% to 13% increase FPS over that video below depending of the title. We will have to wait and see the benchmark when AMD new GPU hit the shelves November 15th.

If the motherboard you buy has a "Flash the BIOS without a CPU installed" function you can do it yourself before installing the 5600X.

That being said do you have any recommendations for motherboards?

and you said for the CPU issue just to make sure the motherboard has a updated bios or a manufacturer sticker saying 5000 series AMD

The B550 Tomahawk BIOS can be flashed without a CPU installed. This is only if the board doesn't already have the BIOS version needed. So yes you can still look for that sticker or ask the seller but in the eventuality that it's not on the board yet you can do it yourself and without a CPU installed. :)

Follow the video below for complete instruction on how.

No problems it was my pleasure! Don't hesitate to message if you have any issues. :)
One last question, What are your thoughts about the AMD RX 5700XT over the RTX 2060? according the userbenchmark it performs a 20% better? But ive also read that they tend to get pretty hot, and it doesnt have ray tracing
