Hi everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my PC for high end gaming and I have been browsing around the internet for a decent rig!

I managed to find one with these specs... Will this be able to play high end games well?

Specs:
- 4.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 7700
- 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
- Gigabyte H110M-S2H Motherboard

If possible, could you let me know the FPS it will get for some games.

Thanks!

Dean.

When I mentioned high end, i think that was a poor choice of words. I am looking for a pc around 600-800ish, I dont need a high end £1000+ pc, im looking for one that will play most intense games no problem.

800 Pounds you can definitely do better. Do you need OS? Peripherals? Monitor?

No I dont need those, i have two monitors keyboard and mouse etc.

Just looking to upgrade the pc and tower itself.

Thanks for the breakdown! Much appreciated to get a rough price for each, however, i personally would prefer to buy it already built if im honest.

At that price point, pre-built manufacturers like Asus etc and PC Builders like pcspecialist have nothing on the part list above. They would charge close to a 1000 pounds or 1100 pounds for that part list. Better to buy it and build it yourself OR look around in the local market for a PC builder or someone you know can build PC's and let them know you are buying the parts individually and want them to assemble it for you.

You have a good point! I might give building my own a try. I am a bit lost when it comes to whether to go for an i5 over an i7 or the other way around. I have heard that some i5s perform better than i7s? Is that correct?

i5's would never perform better than an i7. They might match the performance of an i7 in a certain game, but I doubt they would surpass. Of course, this is considering that the rest of the specs are same for both the i5 and i7.

If you are gaming only and want to keep the costs low down, take the i5. If you can afford it, then the i7.
