Hi all;

So I was going to upgrade my power-supply, which at the moment is a EVGA 500 W1, 80+ WHITE 500W https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00H33SFJU/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and was going to upgrade to this guy https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA7RD7ZF5827&ignorebbr=1 Is this a good PSU for my system? And an upgrade compared to my current one?

Yes, that Seasonic is an awesome PSU. It's highly rated, and well renowned. It's a solid purchase. Good match with your system. If the 650w is only a few bucks more, I'd recommend going for it. With that said, the 550w is plenty for your system as it stands.

Edit: the 650w is only $13 more. It's totally worth it.

So you would recommend getting this one https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817151186 the 650w version?

Edit; Also I have an Thermaltake core x31 https://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002786 will that psu fit under the psu cover? It looks taller than my current psu.

Yes, that's the one that's $13 more. For future builds, with more power hungry hardware, it's a solid choice. But will also power your build nicely regardless.

Yes, your X31 can accommodate a PSU of 180mm lenght. The Seasonic is 140mm. Depth should be fine. They are all standard. It's predominantly the length that's the big factor.

I think its a good investment to get a more powerful PSU, because I will probably in the future be upgrading more hardware in my computer, and if I have a good PSU, I don't need to worry about power.

Thanks for the help and suggesting to get the 650w PSU. 👍
