I heard Microsoft was allowing Windows 7/8 users to upgrade to 10 for free! This is shocking enough to say the least, but I was wondering if the same type transfers. ie:
Windows 8 Pro-->Windows 10 Pro
Windows 7 Ultimate--->Windows 10 Ultimate
Windows 8.1 Standard--->Windows 10 Standard

If it doesn't and makes a Win8 Pro user downgrade to a Win10 Standard user, I probably won't be a happy camper.

Apologies if this a strangely obvious question, but you can never be too sure what a corporation could pull 😀

Solution
Well, they just announced yesterday that Media Center will not be back in Win 10. And that was the big draw for the Pro packages. At least in the consumer space.

But I haven't seen anything about different levels of Windows 10, so I guess we get to wait a couple more months before we find out the answer to that.

I do not believe there will be an "Ultimate" version of Win 10.
As with Win 8/8.1....Regular or Pro.

Enterprise users will be handled with whatever Enterprise license they have.

Exact details have not been published as to which version goes to what.
