Hello,

I have an old All In one TOWER PC Asus K31ADE-FR017T, which is kind of crappy.
( I think that this is the one : https://www.asus.com/pt/Tower-PCs/K31ADE/specifications/)

I would like to upgrade it but without throwing away everything. With a small budget (~350$-400$) what would be best to make it better ?
Of course don't expect miracles but what and which component should I buy to increase the most the PC's performances ?

I know how to change the components myself so no problem with that.

Thank you very much for your help,
Peace

EDIT : as mentionned next, I have a tower and not an all-in-one

Agreed with the other posters, defintely an SSD and probably more RAM - a matched 2x4GB kit, at the very least for common everyday stuff. Maybe a 2x8GB kit, although for basic use, that might be excessive.

Crucial has a great lookup system on their site, though their prices tend to be a bit high.

I chose the Brazil site for Crucial because I saw that the language for the link to your K31ADE appeared to be Portuguese, but I wasn't sure if you were in Portugal or Brazil.

I also don't understand why the Brazil site for Crucial is not showing the prices - that's very frustrating.

It might be possible to get...

All in One are going to be much like a laptop. Very little you can do to upgrade that.
I would open to see if you can change the RAM or add a stick to make at least 8GB, and to see if you can remove the HDD for a SSD swap. Being that it's already equipped with a low power version of the lowest tier chip I doubt it would take a CPU upgrade but you might check literature to see if it was offered with an i5 or 7 to swap to.

Do you have a Asus tower or All-In-One PC?
Your title mentions a All-In-One PC but in your link is a Asus tower PC.

Oops my mistake. I have a tower Pc. What I meant by all in one was that I bought it premade but I understand now that I had a wrong definition of All in one ^^" (english is not my native langage).

So I have a tower Pc, like the one in the link.

It might be possible to get other brands of RAM cheaper, but I don't know how fussy compatibility will be. As long as it's DDR3 1600 RAM, though, it should work, probably. I tend to be a bit cautious, though.

If you're planning on doing gaming, then maybe a video card, but the existing CPU might then be an issue. And that gets more into a question of "how much money do you want to put in an outdated system.

For office type tasks, though, even 4GB might be enough. My dad gets by with an old 4th gen i3, and only 4GB of RAM. Going to an SSD with no other changes was like night vs day for him.
