Hello,

There is a workstation that several people use to build programs or use VMs.
The problem is that both are slower than on our individual machines.
Here are the specs on userbenchmark.com: Dell Precision T7610

My question is:
Would replacing the motherboard, changing
the 1 Intel Xeon e5-2620 v2 with 16GB 1600MHz
to 2 Intel Xeon X5670 with 96GB 1066MHz (or 1333MHz)
be a good choice?
Here is a comparison on ark.intel.com: Intel Xeon X5670 vs Intel Xeon e5-2620 v2

Thank you for your answers.

Actually, a colleague would agree to sell to a fair price the "new" motherboard with the 2 Intel Xeon X5670 and 96GB RAM.

Also, I'm having a hard time finding trustworthy websites or sellers to buy old processor or the same RAM that is currently installed.
Are eBay or Aliexpress legit for these kind of things?

Edit: adding that clock speed is quite important for what we are doing.
