Approximate Purchase Date: Not sure probably within 3-4 weeks

Budget Range: $720

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Streaming games, gaming, photoshop, little bit of video editing

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: CPU, CPU Cooler, GPU, PSU, Case

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: amazon.com, bestbuy.com

Location: Getting CPU or CPU and CPU Cooler from USA and buying GPU, PSU and Case in India

Parts Preferences: PSU - XPG, AMD CPU and GPU, Case - Cooler Master or any other brand (of GPU, Case and PSU) with good customer support in India

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 (will upgrade in the future after saving up, not sure what resolution, 1440p?)

Additional Comments: RGB not a must but would be a nice bonus if within same budget

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: For better quality streaming and to play new gen games

Current PC specs : https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SJMemento/saved/#view=rBF2kL

Parts selected for upgrade : CPU - Ryzen 7 5800X, CPU Cooler - Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB, GPU - Gigabyte Radeon RX 6750 XT, PSU - XPG Core Reactor 750G, Case - Cooler Master TD500 Mesh V2

Just want to be sure if current pc mobo and other components will support the above upgrades, checked cooler and case dimensions and cooler is supposed to fit but if someone can check the dimensions it would be helpful as I don't have much experience with pc building, also I would have to upgrade mobo bios (there's google to help me with that).

5800x can be a 5700x with eco mode

5700x can be a 5800x (almost) with Core optimizer and +150-200mhz oc.

5800x can be the best of both of you do core optimizer, should also be better binned than the 5700x.

Either should be great. Currently have my 5700x getting 16000 in R23, just a hair higher than a stock 5800x.

Well, that's the part I'm confused about right now. To go with the 5800X or the 5700X, isn't higher number supposed to be better and why was 5700X released after 5800X?

Alternate case option:

Cooler:

If the PSU is more than 3 years old, i would not recommend that. get a unit that is currently in production:

if you can stretch a bit, get the 5800X3D from the US. X3D is currently out of stock in India. as this will be the last upgrade for the AM4 platform, getting the best chip is the best long term solution.

5700x is just lower binned but cooler 5800x missing some 100-200MHz of top boost. 5700x was released later when AMD so as usual they wanted to sell and earn more with 5800(x) while they collect enough of lower binned ones to star selling them. Nothing unusual, all are doing that. In either case it's world apart from 2600x.

Okay got it, I will see which one is cheaper and go with that one.

Ok thank you, I had forgotten about the MWE Gold V2 and I am going to go with the 800w one. Cooler I would rather go with the Peerless Assassin or ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO or NOCTUA NH-U12S or Deepcool AK620 depending on which CPU I get, price, availability, etc.

I am getting the 5700X guys, do I need a 850 watts PSU or is 750 watts enough? Also if I want to overclock it to run like a 5800x will the process be too complicated and will it make the 5700x run as hot as the 5800x?

Unless you have a 4080 or stronger you dont need 850W, 750W is enough.
OC is not that complicated, make sure you have a proper cpu cooler and good case airflow, and the cpu will run cool.

The price difference between a 5700x, 5800x, 5800x3d are within 15£$€.

You should choose the 5800x3d and be done with it. It's still one of the top gamer CPU's out there.

Get a decent Corsair RMx/RMe 750-850w,

Get the best chip you can (5800x3d) and you are gamer relevant for another few years,

About 100 currency difference between 5800X and 5800X3D, that is true of the price difference between the 5800X and 5700X though. Unless there is somewhere the 5800X3D is mis-priced, we should all go buy it.

Can't change the CPU, it has already been bought by my friend and he has to get back from USA in a couple of days, so can't return it and order another again. Even a $100 makes a lot of difference here when you convert it to rupees (8000 rupees) and we Indians are really price-conscious 😛

I've the Lian Li 215. Superb airflow for such a good price.

Ya, actually that was my choice before I switched to the TD500 Mesh V2, I wanted to go with Cooler Master because they are a well known brand in India and Lian Li doesn't have customer support here, but the cpu cooler that I am gonna go with for my build also doesn't have customer support here and I am going to be taking a risk but it doesn't cost as much as the case so taking a chance on the case is more riskier.
