Upgrading processor in netbook

is it possible to upgrade the cpu in a toshiba nb-505bl netbook? does anyone at least know weather or not the processor is soldered in, and if it is not, what socket is it?

it is quite worth it when all you have room for is a netbook.

It would be better to buy a netbook with faster CPU. Most have Intel Atom low power CPU's and their socket is specific for those which closes the upgrade path. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Atom

Hi, to my knowledge ALL atom CPU's are soldered on. However I know that there are overclocking utilities that can push the speed up significantly.

I would only recommend continuous OC'ed use in very cold places as you will otherwise probably hit the thermal limits pretty quick under load.
