Upgrading Radeon 4650 (Yes, old...)

Hello,
I have a really old system with the following spec:

Athlon 64 3500+ (single core)
2Gb Ram
Radeon 4650 Graphics Card

Do you think its worthwhile to upgrade my graphics card to, say, a Radeon 5670? Would that make any difference to the rest of the system's gaming performance? I want to be able to play X3: Terran Conflict at 1650x1*** rez comfortably.

For that game I think your CPU needs the upgrade alot more. If you can put 4gb of ram in it.

That isn't old. Your system isn't like a 30 year old ibm 8086 with 640kb ram and two 5 1/4 floppy drives oh wait there is even older. How about a 1950s ibm 305 hard drive with over 20 26inch platters.
