Upgrading RAM from 2 GB to 8 GB

Hi. I have a Mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13" which has 2 GB RAM. I do a lot of video editing work on programs that require a fast computer.
Will it help if I upgrade my RAM from 2 GB to 8 GB? I run programs like (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro etc. that require 4 GB RAM to function properly)

Is it worth it to upgrade the RAM?
