[SOLVED] Upgrading RAM on Acer 5755G

I have seen many people say in other forums they have upgraded to 16GB of ram and windows reads it.

I want to try an 8GB stick beside one of my fours to see what it does and if it works I can try two 8's beside each other. Anyone got some guidance here?

what the exact make of your laptop
Example: AS5755G-6823
from what ive seen this model only supports up to 8 GB of memory but cant be sure without the whole model number
if youre running windows 10 then just type info in your search bar and it should be in the following list

That's the only model number I know of for Acer 5755G

I would just remove the 4gb and try the 8gb. It may not work properly with one of each, but you never know--my hp 8760w worked fine with 2x4gb and 1x8gb and even still ran in dual channel mode.

I think it's either start building a PC or risk improving the ram in my laptop. I think you know what I am thinking now.
