Upgrading Ram on ASUS n56vz laptop

Solution
An Ivy Bridge based laptop will accept DDR3 and DDR3L (1.5V and 1.35V). (source: http://ark.intel.com/products/64899) Unless the laptop is XMP enabled it will likely not run RAM any faster than 1600MHz. Especially if it is 1.35V memory I wouldn't pay extra for heat spreaders as there is not enough heat to dissipate to warrant them, and since they're in the laptop you can't see them.

As such, any matched pair of 8GB sticks that match those specifications should work in your laptop.
