Hello.

I recently bought a new memory for my ThinkCentre M90P. This new memory is a Kingston DDR3 8GB 1600mhz with 1.35v recommended. I removed the older memories and let only this working. However, I am having trouble with this. My OS will always reboot or freeze after I start to use a bit more than 2GB. I have other memories of the same type here, so malfunctioning RAMs are not a problem. Also, if I use my older RAMs (2x 2GB 1333mhz 1.5v) my desktop works perfectly.

I understand that the M90P's motherboard can only work at 1333mhz or 1066mhz. However, motherboards usually downgrade automatically to the lowest frequency of the installed memory sticks, or to the maximum supported frequency if a memory with a greater frequency is installed. This is actually happening, since I saw in the BIOS summary that my new 1600mhz memory is working at 1333mhz.

So, then I thought that it might be due to the voltage of the memories. This new one is 1.35v, whereas the older ones need 1.5v. However, I can't seem to find a way to change the voltage sent to the memory in the BIOS setup.

Does anyone have any clue about what might be happening here? If there is really a problem with the voltage, is there any way for me to change it to 1.35v? If the BIOS cannot support such setting, is there any other BIOS that I can install in my desktop so I can change this setting?
