Nope. Just add it, and then check in BIOS to confirm it recognizes it. Actually, you don't have to go to the BIOS; just go to Settings in Windows, then System, then About. It will show you "installed RAM" in that window.
edit: Sorry, I overlooked you're using Win 7, but you can get a similar view by going to the Control Panel and selecting System.
I'm also assuming you know that you need an x64 CPU and a 64-bit Windows 7 OS to make use of that extra RAM.
