Question Upgrading RAM

I have two sticks of ddr3 2gb in my computer and want to upgrade. Can I add two sticks of 4gb ddr3 with almost identical specs or could that slow down the speed? I can also buy two RAM sticks that are identical to the ones I already have (same brand + model), but then I have to import them from America (i'm from Europe) which takes a lot of time, costs extra and leaves you without warranty. What should I do? Sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker.

mixing RAM is a gamble. it may work it may not, even RAM made in the same factory in the same day may not work together.
I suggest replacing the RAM not adding more to ensure a stable system.
