Upgrading to a bigger SSD, but how?

Hello.

I had a problem before with ny SSD, but I've come to that conclusion that I'd rather upgrade my SSD that remove it. The only problem is that I don't know how to do that. Can I just unplug the old one and plug the new one straight in? Do I have to do something before like saving some special files? Or do I have to get experts to do this?

What are the sizes, make, model of these drives?

Assuming the system works correctly with the current drive....

Specific steps for a successful clone operation:
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
This is to allow the system to try to boot from ONLY the SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the 450MB Recovery Partition, here:

Hi. It's a SK hynix sc300a (HFS128G32TND-N210A 128GB SK HYNIX SATA III 6GBPS to be more precise). I also have a HDD, so does your method still work, and when can I put back the HDD when I change the SDD?

You're going from, or to, the SK Hynix?

Yes, it still works with an HDD.
You reconnect other drives after the whole thing is done and works properly.

I'm going from a SK hynix to an Adata or something. Depending on what's the best for my PC. Thanks for the replies.
