Upgrading to either a R9 280 dual-x 3gb or Asus R9 290x DCII

I am upgrading my graphics card.
The reason i am posting this and not using 'best buy guides' or speclists is because the price of the R9 290x is normally €400 but has dropped €100 euro in price.

I have narrowed it down to two options.

- Sapphire Radeon R9 280 Dual-X 3 GB for €210
- Asus Radeon R9 290X DCII 4GB for €300

My other hardware is:
i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz [socket 1156]
8GB ram @1333
Motherboard: p55 -cd53
HD: SSD [and hdd storage drive]
Monitor: 1080p

So the question is basicly: is the 290x worth the 90 euro's extra (with my hardware)?

290X no doubt. Your cpu is quite old but it still fine to handle cards like 290X

Asus Radeon R9 290X DCII 4GB best option, but i dont like asus i pref the gigabyte or MSI
