Hi everyone,
As the title suggests I am thinking of getting the RTX 4070 Super (specifically the MSI Ventus 2x) and Ryzen 7 7700x to upgrade my PC. However, I am not sure if they will work for my setup and if they are a good pair. So my current setup is:
Graphics Card: MSI Ventus RTX 2060
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk
RAM: Corsair 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz (I don't know which one specifically)
SSD: Crutial CT 500MX 500 GB
HDD: WDC WD 1 TB
Power Supply: Seasonic Focus Gold 650W 80+ Gold
My main concern is will the RTX 4070 Super and Ryzen 7 7700x fit on my motherboard as it's older. Do I need some extra cables (I have my box with extra cables from the power supply but idk will they fit) to connect them? I saw that the connections for some newer cards have 12 pins or something. Also, can I use the fan that came with the Ryzen 5 2600X on the Ryzen 7 7700x, or do I need a new one? If I do need a new one which one would be best?
I will be using it for gaming on a 1440p monitor, so I think these two should get me over 120 fps with high or ultra settings, maybe a few tweaks. Furthermore, I believe the power supply should be good, but again not sure. I bought this PC in March 2019. I don't know if I forgot anything else, any and all insight and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
FantasySokka
