Upgrading to XP

I have Windows ME (not by choice, came with it!), I will be upgrading to XP soon, most likely PRO, but possibly Home.
I heard there are some disadvantages to running XP, what are they? I have Frontpage 02, Zone Alarm, ICQ, Photoshop 6, CuteFTP and a few more... will these still work?

yes they will work, just that XP may be slower on your system.

Slower? Where did you get that. If you have 128MB of RAM or more then XP will be faster not slower.
