Upgrading to Z270 A Pro

So recently I bought a Dell OptiPlex 3020 MT. Core i3 7100. The motherboard of that pc does not support other PSU. Only the one that came with it. So I bought a Z270 A Pro Motherboard. It’s used. Not new. So now after setting everything up will my Hard Drive be formatted? Or it will stay untouched?

Just the act of installing the motherboard won't format your hard drive, but you'll probably need to considering Windows usually doesn't like motherboard changes.

So I have to prepare a driver usb?

I would back up everything and link a Microsoft account to your Windows digital license if you're using Windows 10 (https://www.windowscentral.com/how-re-activate-windows-10-after-hardware-change).

Then prepare a bootable drive with a Windows 10 installation (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10) so you can completely reinstall Windows after you make the switch and realize the computer doesn't work correctly anymore.

Well I don’t use a licensed windows. XD So what if I install new one?

And my case has a cable attached to HD Audio cable named AC97. So should I plug in any one of these two or I must plug the HD Audio?
