Upgrading, what motherboard fits to my system?

I'm about to upgrade my PC once for all. I've decided to throw a budget of max $700 (approx).
Atm:
I5 3570K 3.4 Ghz // 8GB 1066Mhz // GTX 1070 (recently upgraded, reason to upgrade other stuff).
Upgrade:
i7 7700K Kaby Lake 4.2 GHz // 16GB 3000 MHz memory // Some motherboard

So. What motherboard would you recommend for this collection, with the budget in mind?
I've thought of a Asus Strix Z270H Gaming, but don't know if that's "strong" enough? Would like to get as much graphics/performance as possible out of the upgrade :)

Regards, Simon

If you're planning to overclock, the z270 is a must have mate. One of the only boards you can overclock CPU's on. Upgrading to 16GBs of RAM isn't a bad choice either. Even just an I5-6700k won't hurt mate :). Would also recommend a Cooler Master 212 or a Noctua or like a Noctua NH-D15 as the CPU coolers as AIO coolers only give you 2-4 degrees celsius difference anyway, not worth the money.

as skynetrising mentioned you could (depending if your current motherboard is a z87/98 board) just upgrade cpu and ram,
But looking at prices, and think your 7770K upgrade make sense, and sell the other system in parts on ebay to compensate for expenses :)

I would go with a z270 board of course with That K cpu, but markets vary a lot depending where your located, assuming USA.
The Asus - STRIX Z270F seems to come with a lot of recommendations. has M.2 ssd connection and plenty of fan ports.

Intel Core i5 3570K 3.40GHz
MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming
Asus EX-GTX 1070 8Gig Ram
G.SKILL Ares DDR3 1066 MHz 2x4GB
Intel 335 Series 180GB SSD
Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB

That should be it I think.

That's a great mid-high range gaming PC. Only thing lacking there is 16GB of ram.
If you want to jump to 4core-8thread config, then just get i7-3770K. With slight overclock you can easy get to 7700k base performance level.

Migration to i7-7700K platform will not give you that big of a performance boost. Certainly not worth the additional expenses.

My brain is really thinking now :D. I agree that money for money, I might be better off with a lower upgrade. But in terms of still using old ddr3 1066mhz ram and a older processor together with gtx 1070, wouldn't it be better to pull a complete upgrade, and also be a bit safe future wise?

Not that I do not believe you (regarding performance boos), I certainly do. I'm just pulling my head a bit on upgrading on old 4-5 years old hardware :)
