this is my first post here so hello to u all,
i am thinking of upgrading my pc i have a gigbyte GA 5ax rev 1.5 with a k62 450 cpu which doesnt like any of the newer graphix cards due to a problem with the agp voltage regulater .
wat i want to know is would it be better to go and upgrade to a t bird 750 and a k7 mobo or get a newer socket7 board and a better graphix card as i heard that a lot of k7 boreds do not like 100 mhz sdram,
or does any one have a recomendation of a k7 t bird or duron bored that LIKES 100mhz flava mem and a good 32 meg graphix card
thx for reading and reply if u do either ,hope to be in a position to help some as i grow more confident under the hood of pc's

Well first of all welcome. I wouldn't spend money on a new super 7 board. Now a days it really isn't worth it. If you are gonna spen money go with a new Duron system. I have never heard that new boards have trouble with 100MHz RAM. Maybe the classic athlon boards, but not the new Thunderbird athlon. My friend just got the Abit KT7 RAID board and a Duron 700. The duron was under $60 and is faster than my brothers P3 700. The ABit is the best Athlon/duron board out there right now in my opinion. The Asus A7V is good too. I would suggest getting hooked up with that stuff which would be less than $200 combined. Check pricewatch.com. As far as graphics cards. I just got my Asus V7700 deluxe GF2 for $223 and it has video in/out. You can get GF2 MX cards for like $110 if you don't have the money. On the other hand...if you have bigtime cash, you can get the GF2 ultra cards. Those are the bomb right now, but cost over $350. hope this helps.
Maybe wait a month until DDR boards are out.
