cyberpower 1350 and unsure how old it is. probably past battery time

out of the blue it keeps clicking so i hooked up the cable to read the event logs. basically the log stated every 4 seconds it was "battery is charging' then 'battery is discharging" it actually caused my tv to reboot which was weird. it did this for 10 min while i was trying to google for a solution. i have a ceiling fan, box fan and window AC unit going and none of those changed . ie cant be a power issue because those would have died or flickered or something. i decided to turn off the UPC and wait 30 seconds and reboot it. i think it maybe did it once or twice after that but now its been fine for 5 minutes

note the self test did not pass before i rebooted it. now it did pass the self test. im pretty sure this model has a replacement battery but if it passes the test does it really need a battery?

Disconnect the system from the UPS and let it charge overnight. See if reconnecting the system to the UPS brings about the same clicking noise. As for the clicks, while it's charging on it own, can you keep an eye and an ear on whether the UPS makes the same clicks? It'd be a good time to find out how old the UPS is since the battery is the first thing that fails in an UPS, if there's anything to fail in said UPS.

sadly, or not. after posting it didnt click at all. i guess in theory it could be some kind of dirty power. someone 20 miles from me said they had rolling blackouts but i had none where i live. still odd that my AC and fans didnt react if it was that though.

Good points.
