So basically I'm complet noob for electricity but recently my TV and integrated network card died after storm despite they being shutted down for whole day, before and after storm.

So I decided to buy something and I'm limited in my country so I will ask, is this good enough and what exactly UPS do ? I believe it's preventig from overvolting which is happening usually during storms. At night hours I get electricity down for 1 second, literally every night half of my city, I'm not sure what the hell are they doing but I assume that with UPS I will be safe in that scenario aswel ?

I'm looking at APC PM8-GR (http://www.emmi.rs/ups-evi-prenaponska-za%C5%A1tita-apc-pm8-gr.11.html?productId=52238) which is only offer for that money. I would use it for 850W PC (although it doesn't use real 850W), for 43" LED TV, for 2-3 modems and recievers for digital TV.

Can I use like one more 650W PC and PS4 on this one aswel or it's going to be too much ?

And most importantly, can I go with APC PM6-GR (http://www.emmi.rs/ups-evi-prenaponska-za%C5%A1tita-apc-pm6-gr.11.html?productId=52239) in case that it's enough for all what I mentioned since I don't need more then 6 holes in that case.

As far as I can see only difference is 2600J to 1800J on second one. But I'm not really sure how is that measured in real life, didn't pay attention too much in classes when I was younger 😀 Heh.

That's not a UPS, it's a surge protector. UPS stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply and is basically a big battery that filters the power going to whatever you connect to it. What you linked will protect your devices from power surges (e.g. from the electrical grid or from lightning strikes), but it will not keep them on in case of a power outage.

These surge protectors are fine for virtually any electrical load you'd reasonably put it under (you're fine with a PC, a display, routers/modems, whatever), but they don't have a battery in them.

My bad for terminology. For some reason I got confused. So basically all my electronics should be safe in case of lightning strikes / storms despite fact that I keep them turned off during that time, and during those short night times when I have that 1sec electricity down which is enough for both PC's and Displays just to restart on their own ?

Thanks, that is fine since all what I have is for entertaining so when that happen I can live with that. I just don't want to throw money or wait 40 days for warranty in case that I have it, although most companies do not accept warranty for those kind of issues.

Appreciated.
