Hi

Today i am Facing very interesting issue. I m using Antec 650w neo classic modular psu.

And i have backup ups cyberpower BU1000e which is 600w ups.

When i m using my computer normal for everyday task. And suddenly electricity cut happened. My pc won't get shutdown immediately.

And today when i was using furmark benchmark test to test my OVERCLOCK gpu and electricity cut happened.

My pc didn't survive by UPS. It got shutdown/closed as soon as electricity gone.

My 600w ups didn't worked in this situation

Does anyone have idea why my ups didn't give power during running of furmark benchmark test.

It's weird

What i m suspecting that psu was drawing more than 600w during the benchmark test and my ups had limitation of 600w and it didn't survived.

My specs are
I5 8600k
Z390 a pro mobo
Msi rtx 2080 Gaming trio

Dude,

Do not but a 1000watt or 1200watt PSU. MASSIVE waste of money.

You do not need to match your PSU to your UPS. Your UPS being 1500va should supply around 900-1000w power, but that does NOT mean you need to or will draw that, it just gives you a nice buffer and will allow your system to run a bit longer on battery power.

Your system needs 650w tops. Get yourself a good PSU in the 650w-850w range and you are fine.

You mentioned the RM850i and the AX860i. Get whichever one is cheaper and be done with it.

As a side note, stop bumping your post. Reply and WAIT. If you keep replying to your own post over and over again to try and get someone's attention not only is it rude its against the rules and will result in your account being warned or banned. Got it?

The AX860i is not a current model, but it is still good and yes the same series as the AX1200i

Platinum is worth it over Gold if electricity costs are very high in your country and efficency is ultra important. Because of the UPS you have you don't need the most ultra efficient unit you can buy, and you may not see the extra money you spend back in electricity cost savings.

Yes the electricity cost is very high in my city.

And AX 860i is very very old model and it's different from Ax1200i. Its not the same.

And i read that for hx series psu. The oem manufacturer is not good as they don't have experience in making psu's.

Well you have Jonnyguru in this thread who works for Corsair, so what you read out there (God knows where) doesn't amount to much when you can get it from the horses mouth here.

As we said about 4 times in this thread then, the RM850i is fine for what you need. If you have a link to what store you order from we can pick some Platinum or Titanium rated models for you if you want.

The reality is you won't be running full power all the time, I doubt you'll see the savings between a Gold and a Platinum especially if you won't nearly be maxing it out, making its efficiency even better (PSu efficiency is higher at lower than full loads).

Ok i am in India and have ordered the Hx850i psu from starcomp.in

They are corsair authorised retailer in India.

Thats the only store where it was available and once i made the order it went out of stock.

Now i m interested in buying the AX860i model. That one also no where available in India.

In India i series is out of stock everywhere.

Btw , from where you operate?

Let me know if you can help in get on hands on Ax860i.

I will appreciate the same.

The AX860i Is not worth going out of your way to get your hands on it.

I am in the US.

There are many other models there that will do the job just as well.

It looks like the selection is limited at the site you provided. Are there any other sites you can order from?

Yeah but i need AX860i as it is full digital psu.
And we can tweak so many things in there.

Are you suggesting is 860i is not worth or good in this segament.

I am getting the AX860i on one of retalier site in good deal. Still they are in process of confirming the stock.

Itdepot.com

They are authorised seller.

You came in here barely knowing anything about PSUs, you do not need a full digital PSU you can tweak.

You need a PSU that can safely and efficiently power your equipment.

And don't listen to some random dude on linustechtips.
Lets make aside the full digital psu

Now we will come to the point.

As jonnyguru said above

RM850i and the AX860i. Get whichever one is cheaper and be done with it.

I am getting good deal on AX860i than RM850i.

Corsair has very few current model lower wattage Platinum or Titianium PSUs.

Currently there is a model AX850 which is Titanium rated, its also very expensive.

Seasonic is a brand that has a lot of lower wattage models in that range.
Right

Do you know in which port in motherboard we have to connect the ax860i digital monitor cable?

Is that a JFP port where we have to connect in motherboard? Right?

No, it comes with an adapter cable, it plugs into a USB header on your motherboard. It comes with the required cables.
Unfortunately AX860i is also out of stock here in India.
Rm850x and rm850x as well out of stock

Only Rm1000i is in stock as of now.

Shall i buy that. I m not sure hows the performance of RM1000i

In my area electricity cost is very high that's why I thought to buy platinum but all platinum stock is over.

If the RM1000i is all you can get it will run very efficiently because you'd only be using about half its capacity. So you will in theory save money on electricity. Its super overkill but thats what I'd do in your case.
