The UPS I will be trying this out on is a APC Back-Ups Pro 1500 it is a simulated sinewave. I bought it brand new for 90$. I want to transform it's "Simulated Sinewave" into a "Pure Sinewave" I know quite a bit in electronics but i never tried to do something like this but i figured its just a matter of opening it up and changing the inverter into a pure sinewave one with the same output/power usages. But i figured it's worth to give my idea a shout out here first.

Also don't say "just go buy a new unit!" Consider this an experiment.

Basically then, you bought a used AGM battery and a case for $90. You're going to need to crack some books or see if Google is friendly enough to locate a pure sinewave inverter circuit for you. There's no "magic missing piece(s)" that will turn a simulated sine inverter into a true sine inverter, although you may be able to re-use a few of the parts. If you want to charge the battery when AC power is available, you may be able to salvage that part of the circuit.

its used but its brand new. The batteries were never used (they inserted them upside down...) But i get your point of "the magic piece" however i though inside it theres a 12 battery chargers that takes care of charging the battery when there electricity coming from the wall into the unit. And there's a inverter that when it switches to battery mode it would convert the 12v dc into 120v ac simulated sinewave, if so then if i change the inverter that is one that converts 12v dc into 120v ac pure sinewave? I am wrong? Because if not the only trouble would be to find a inverter pure sine wave that matches the first one and is small enough to fit.
