Hello i've got a problem with my laptop.
My laptop was connected to my tv, watching Netflix, when suddenly my signal dropped.
It said on my screen: 'no signal'. My modem/router still work (i've tested with other devices).

But now i'm into more trouble. I've made a system restore cd to try and restore my pc. But now I need to insert a win 7 cd which I do not have. What can I do now? Any way to cancel this? Anyone knows what caused this?

Solution
If all else fails and you don't want to shell out a lot of cash for overpriced local tech labor, you can always download a 'digital copy' of windows legally, assuming you have a product key still on the bottom of your laptop.

I suggest finding a way to copy your old files to another storage device before doing a clean install of windows.

In most cases, you can boot from a Windows Install Disc and select "Repair Your Computer".

Apparently not, I'm asked for a win 7 cd

If the OS still fails to load then,,...

Best to try again with the recovery disk

If still unsuccessful then send the laptop to computer technician to recover the OS file structure
Ask the technician to also check the ac adapter condition and battery, this may have caused the external video output to crash
