Hello i have a HD7770 and it worked for a few days just fine and yesterday and i turned my pc off normally and today when i wanted to play some gta4 i got a black screen fan is spinning on the cpu and gpu 6 pin is connected and the monitor is connected to the gpu but nothing i tryed to clear the cmos and update the bios but nothing my mobo is a asus m2n68-am se2 4gb of ram and a amd athlon 7750 black edition pls help and i tryed my gpu on my friends pc and the gpu works and im using the dvi to analog

whell atm im using the gpu from my mobo

Ok so screen works with onboard. Gpu works in another pc. You've reattached gpu back to your own pc after testing and still nothing. Try clear cmos, remove the watch sized battery for a half a minute while pc is off. If still no go, good chance motherboard pcie 16x slot isn't working anymore.

i have tryed a different gpu in my system and it works fine

bro im honest 100% i tryed with a gt610

i have tryed to clean cmos but not for that long it was out for like 10 seconds i will try it now

ok cleand cmos and nothing

my power supply is a 400W witch my HD7770 worked with and i have tested it with a 550W power supply and nothing

Yes my BIOS is 1801 and yes i use the dvi to vga on my GT610 just so to test it and it works fine and i have tryed to reset my BIOS and nothing and i dont know why should i get a new cmos battery because this one workes it remembers my time just fine i dont get any warning from my cmos battery on the boot screen

Its either the adapter or gpu.

Gpu works in a friends pc but not yours.

Tried another psu on your pc and no go.

Not sure if you've tried another video adapter.

Try the 7770 again in another PC. It's possible the capacitors on the gpu discharged enough during the visit and held on long enough for one last attempt. You brought the card home and it's dead, likely scenario. Or the gpu was damaged without realising to and from.

i have tryed my hd7770 on my dads pc and there it works i just checked

Be sure the HD7770 sits tight in the slot, eventually plug it out and plug in a view times. I suspect your PCIe slot on the motherboard.

CMOS batteries (CR2032) are really cheap and when it comes to older hardware, everything is possible.

Connect your VGA cable to the motherboard while the 7770 is plugged in too. Get into windows and have a look at the device manager. Is your card recognized there?

What monitor does your dad have and how/which video cable did you use to connect it?

I know you've said previously you use an dvi to vga adapter correct? It's been awhile, can you explain again how you have connected your monitor and and how you connect your dad's monitor.

Mine with the dvi to vga adapetr and with the same adapter my dads and i used his vga cable on his pc with the hd7770 and it works and then i got my cable still working
