So, I install a new motherboard, CPU and RAM recentely, but things didnt go to plan. I have had a number of problems recentely including:
- Computer screen freezes every 5 mins or so
- Taskbar freezes
- Games (e.g. Rocket League, CSGO, fortnite) do load, but they either crash or bug out every time.

I did find that one of my 4GB sticks of RAM wasnt working/broken (I got 2x4GB sticks), so I think I need to return that. But even with the one 4GB stick of RAM in my pc, it should still run fine.

Before I installed my new parts (MOBO, RAM and CPU), my old parts were working fine, so I am assuming it isnt to do with my graphics card.

Now I really need help with this as I have no clue what is causing these problems to occur. Thanks for any help!

Specs:
MSI B350 Tomahawk - MOBO
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - CPU
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 (2x4GB) - RAM
NVIDIA GTX 750ti - GPU

Solution
To fix, reinstall.

In detail, here we go. Of course, depending on how meticulous you wish to be.

You are completely wiping out the current Windows install and startig with a blank slate. So you need to prep.
You will need an external drive, and at least 1, preferably 2, USB sticks of 8GB or larger.

1. OS install. Go here to create your own USB Win 10 install:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
This will use one of the 8GB USB sticks

2. Drivers. You need to go find, at the manufacturers website, all the drivers for your hardware.
GPU, mouse and keyboard is needed, the LAN driver for your motherboard. This last one is important. Windows may or may not install it automatically. But if it does not...

I still do not know how I am supposed to be solving my issues. You originally said that uninstalling Windows and reinstalling it would solve it. Is that still the case, or is ti something different?

We're getting there.
But we've only started in the Preparation part of this.

Or do you just want to wing it?

But if it does not, then you're stuck.

3. Username/passwords. Unless you have ALL of them memorized, it is advisable to have them documented. Either on paper or saved in a text file

4. Software Either have, or know wehere to go get, all the install files for the software you use.
Steam client, alternate browsers (Firefox or Chrome, for instance), antivirus, whatever.
Also, you may need any serial numbers and log in details for any licensed software. Be sure you get all of them.

5. Steam games. You can move any existing Steam games off to the external drive. Like this:
To move an already installed game
Games library
Right click the game
Properties
Local Files
Move Install Folder

6. Personal data. Locate any personal files you wish to keep. Copy all this off the external drive.

7. Browser profiles. Current browsers give the function to export the current profile.
Do that, and save to the external drive somewhere.

Look through your hard drive a second (or third) time, to be absolutely sure there is nothing in there you wish to keep.

Now that you have all of that, the install:

Power off
Disconnect any drives other than your current C drive.
Insert the Win 10 USB stick you created in Step 1.
Boot up from that USB stick.
This may or may not involve altering the BIOS boot order
Assuming you are now in the actual Win 10 install routine from the USB stick, proceed with the installation
Since we do not know the details of your current Win 10 licensing...when it asks for the license, Skip
Then, when it asks 'where' to install, select Custom
You'll be presented with a list of all existing partitions.
Select each, DELETE
Leaving one large blank space.
Follow the prompts to create a single partition using the whole drive space
Continue, and let Windows create what it needs.

Hey...Windows is installed (hopefully)

Assuming it all works, now you install the drivers for whatever hardware you have. GPU, whatever.

After this, you can recover your applications, personal files, all that

Assuming there are no hardware faults, it should be running just fine.

At the bottom right of the screen, you'll see the nag text about unactivated Windows.
Since we have no idea about what you have, no advice can be given.

Clear enough?

So much this, Installing win 10 is so easy now. I recall 18 months ago when PC was playing up, before i started posting here, I wiped my C drive and went to reinstall just to run into the GPT warning and being like, huh, I just had Windows on this PC and now it won't install. I contemplated paying someone to fix it but it was Friday night of a long weekend and I didn't want to be off line 3 days or more. Lucky I decided to try again and install finally worked

there are step by step guides showing how to fresh install win 10.. I normally suggest this one: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html

once you know how to install it, you should never need to ask for help doing it again
