Hi guys,
So i had a rig with Windows 7 on, my motherboard failed and i had to get a new one, i also got a new GPU, CPU (7th gen, so i need windows 10) and RAM while at it.

I fitted all these new components and logged in as usual, windows 7 was still working and i therefore moved all the files i wanted to keep onto a memory stick so they wouldnt get wiped when i installed new WIndows 10 OS.
However, a window popped up telling me that my usage of Windows 7 is not compatible and it will expire in three days, i would like to be more accurate with this popup but it only came up once and i kinda ignored it as i knew i was getting windows 10 anyway.

So finally, i got the files on my memory stick, took it out. Restart the PC with the OS disk in the drive, go through bios to set it as priority boot, and it takes me to what i presume is the WIndows 10 installation page. After entering my country and keyboard type, it provides me with the option to:
-Troubleshoot
-Turn off your PC

Ofc i select troubleshoot, to which it offers:

-Reset this PC (Lets you choose to keep or remove your files, and then reinstalls Window)
-Recover from a drive (Reinstalls Windows from the recovery drive connected to this PC. This will remove all your files and apps)
-Advanced Options

Now i intend on completely wiping my computer and starting new with the new Windows 10 and reinstalling everything. So i select "Reset this PC" (please correct me if this is not the right action) which then leads me to:

-Keep my files- Removes apps and settings, but keeps your personal files
-Remove everything Removes all of your personal files, apps, and settings

I ofc want to delete everything and start new so i selected "Remove everything", however, it takes me to a screen saying "unable to restart your PC. A drive partition is missing".

So i guess my questions are:

1. Am i going about the right way to start new and install the Windows 10 via the route i have taken?

2. If not what am i aiming for?

3. If i am, then how do i fix this problem?

Many thanks for the read guys, and i await your assistance eagerly.

Your best bet to reset or delete everything from the Hard Drive to have a fresh loaded version is to:

- Load up the USB Drive w/ the Windows 10 ISO (Image file)
- Press Shift + F10 and it will prompt a command prompt box.
- Type in Diskpart
- List Disk
- Select Disk x (assuming there is one hard drive it may vary on the number) Ex. select disk 0
- than type in clean

Then close the prompt and install the Windows 10 to the HDD assuming that you don't need anything backed up.

This can be followed easily with YouTube videos:

Note: I've experienced some strange issues with the 'reset my pc' button. I wouldn't ever trust it just b/c i love to be technical. However, the method described above is the more indepth method. If you are unable to figure it out with anyone else's tips Etc, I'd recommend going to a local shop as they will be able to do this easily.

Have a good one!

Hi man, thank you for replying!

My layout is a little different.
I just followed that guide and proceeded to the "reset pc" to then "remove everything" and it still gives me the same response.
